Gymnasium Covid Guidance for Bluejacket Public School

Chieftains, Please note:  We've updated our Gym Covid policy!  We are requiring masks to be worn at all times!
This will apply to all gymnasiums and all activities!
We're asking all of our Chieftains to respect these procedures for the safety of our Chieftains Family.
These rules and regulations will be similar throughout area gymnasiums.  Please follow their guidelines when visiting as well.

We're also asking for only season seat holders & only immediate family members of student athletes to attend games.
We need to keep capacity down and try and maintain social distancing as much as possible.

This pandemic has truly changed our way of life.  However, we will get through it and we'll get through it together!
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Sincerely,
BPS Admin

Thank you for masking up!  We believe that it is one of our most important things that we can do to provide protection for everyone!

January 21, 2021
Dear Chieftains:
We were able to celebrate Senior 2021 Winter Homecoming on Monday, January 18.  Congratulations to these seniors as they represented their clubs, organizations and sports.  Special Shout-Out to Queen Taci Mitchell & King Parker Shaffer!

We will feature our senior basketball players on Monday, January 25 @ 5:30pm before the rescheduled Foyil varsity basketball games.  It has been an honor and privilege watching all of you work hard and achieve your hopes and dreams!

School calendar update:  We are going to continue our scheduled snow days.  We will not have school on January 22, February 19, April 16, 23, 30 - unless we're making up unscheduled snow days.
We have decided to be in-person on our scheduled 'Blended' Days.  We feel that we have practiced enough and believe that in school education is more effective than virtual.  We are having in-person school on February 12, March 26 & April 9 - unless we are closed for quarantine or other reason.
Our hope is to not have to close down anymore through this second semester.  However, with this entire school year we must remain flexible and understanding as to what is thrown our way.  Hopefully with the new vaccine, continued mask wearing, routine hand washing and social distancing, this pandemic will be under control and life can get back to normal!
If you have any needs, concerns, questions, etc, always feel free to contact our school.  We are here to serve and want you to know we're all in this together!

Oklahoma School Report Card

Accountability Update: Oklahoma School Report Card Dashboard

The Office of Accountability is reaching out to remind schools that if they have not already posted the link to the Oklahoma School Report Card: www.oklaschools.com on their school website that under the ESSA, beginning with information from the 2017-2018 school year, report cards must be posted annually on SEA and LEA websites. (ESEA section 1111(h) (1) (A), (B)(iii) and (h)(2)(A), (B)(iii)). At the core of the Oklahoma School Report Cards is the belief that all students can grow and all schools can improve. While no student report card tells the full story of a child, no school report card tells the full story of a school. Education is far more than a single score or letter grade, but it is important that families and communities can see both strengths and areas that need support and improvement.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Office of Accountability at (405) 522-5169 or accountability@sde.ok.gov.  You may also contact the Bluejacket School administration regarding the school report card information.

Reminder: 24/7 Tobacco-Free Schools Act

House Bill 1685, also known as the 24/7 Tobacco-Free Schools Act, went into effect August 20, 2015. It requires that schools be tobacco-free 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This law prohibits the use of tobacco in any form while on school grounds and during any school-sponsored functions held off campus.  Bluejacket Public School has been tobacco free since 2012.  Please refrain from the use of any tobacco product, including vaping.  Thank you!

It is the mission of Bluejacket Public Schools to prepare ALL students
to succeed in a continually changing environment
through mastery of core curriculum, technology skills and essential citizenship traits.
